Actor Alec Baldwin told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos in an exclusive interview that he had "no idea" how a live bullet got onto the set of his film, "Rust," but that he "didn't pull the trigger" on the firearm that killed one person and wounded another.
"I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them, never," Baldwin told Stephanopoulos.
On Oct. 21, Baldwin was holding an antique revolver during a dress rehearsal for the Western at the Bonanza Creek Ranch near Santa Fe, New Mexico, when it discharged, killing the film's cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, and wounding its director, Joel Souza.
"Someone put a live bullet in a gun, a bullet that wasn't even supposed to be on the property," he added.
On Tuesday, Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office issued a new search warrant detailing that investigators may have found the source of the live bullet fired by Baldwin on the "Rust" set.
So, paraphrasing Mr. Baldwin on ABCTV, not at a Law Enforcement Investigation facility or in a courtroom at a courthouse during any sort of legal proceeding where he is under oath, he makes the aforementioned statements:
A person or persons unknown to him put live ammunition in a prop gun, placed the gun in his hand, and aimed it at his victims. Then, the gun, independent of Mr. Baldwin, released the bullet and shot one person dead and wounded another. Meanwhile, the SantaFe County Sherriff's Office says they "may have found the source of THE LIVE BULLET(!!?) FIRED by Baldwin on the "Rust" set.
If the "word salad" interview produced by ABC TV is to be believed, a bullet shot and killed one person and wounded another!
Somebody prove that I am no longer functionally literate and or that the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA did not cease to exist after 1.6.2021. I'll happily wait.
Baldwin has single-handedly vaporized the gun lobby's refrain that "guns don't kill people" except on one movie set where it was either a rogue gun acting alone, or a rogue "live ammunition" bullet who forced itself into the shooting death of one and then finally stopped its' rampage by embedding itself in the body of its second victim.
If guns and bullets can be confirmed as lone actors, I will never look at a gun owner as anything less than a sociopath held hostage by deadly force weapons kidnapped by rogue live ammunition bullets they can no longer trust to act interactively with their human owners.
The USA will either have to disarm everyone, or confess that it has always supported patricide, genocide, homicide, and suicide. Maybe then, a UN-sponsored INTERNATIONAL COALITION OF Democracies will come and help the never-armed to Build Back Better a USA that works for all of its permanently unarmed residents. BUT perhaps they'll just do what the big Corrupt Capitalist Corporations do and wait till we kill ourselves, then just take ownership of the land and natural resources peacefully.
Once we demonstrate that we can share Planet Earths abundant resources, we might finally prove once and for all of anyone is anywhere beyond our galaxy. Time will surely tell.
Some human being involved is choosing to market a lie. Why? Who retains wealth and or profits either way? Where will following the money lead the real investigative news reporters and is the Stephanopolis interview finally the end of professional news readers with high profile clients on parade?
