Based upon 64 years and counting of me as a human being with brown and pink skin in the United States of America where the false science of Eugenics was created to justify prejudice based upon the color of human being's skin color, I do not now nor have I ever believed laws stop people from mistreating others whose skin is a different color. I believe each person can choose not to mistreat another person based upon their skin color. The first academic writer to document prejudice in great detail: The classic psychological study of the roots of discrimination.
First published in 1954, The Nature of Prejudice remains the standard work on discrimination. With profound insight into the complexities of the human experience, Harvard psychologist Gordon Allport organized a mass of research to produce a landmark study on the roots and nature of prejudice. Allport's comprehensive and penetrating work examines all aspects of this age-old problem: its roots in individual and social psychology, its varieties of expression, its impact on the individuals and communities. He explores all kinds of prejudice -- racial, religious, ethnic, economic and sexual -- and offers suggestions for reducing the devastating effects of discrimination.
In this unabridged edition, a new introduction by Kenneth B. Clark of Columbia University and a new preface by Thomas Pettigrew of Harvard University update the social-psychological research in prejudice and attest to the enduring values of Allport's original theories and insights. Please read THE NATURE OF PREJUDICE by Gordon Allport.
Also, please read The Myth of Race: The Troubling Persistence of an Unscientific Idea by Robert Wald Sussman. Here is why it too is a seminal work on the subject of race: Biological races do not exist―and never have. This view is shared by all scientists who study variation in human populations. Yet racial prejudice and intolerance based on the myth of race remain deeply ingrained in Western society. In his powerful examination of a persistent, false, and poisonous idea, Robert Sussman explores how race emerged as a social construct from early biblical justifications to the pseudoscientific studies of today.

The Myth of Race traces the origins of modern racist ideology to the Spanish Inquisition, revealing how sixteenth-century theories of racial degeneration became a crucial justification for Western imperialism and slavery. In the nineteenth century, these theories fused with Darwinism to produce the highly influential and pernicious eugenics movement. Believing that traits from cranial shape to raw intelligence were immutable, eugenicists developed hierarchies that classified certain races, especially fair-skinned “Aryans,” as superior to others. These ideologues proposed programs of intelligence testing, selective breeding, and human sterilization―policies that fed straight into Nazi genocide. Sussman examines how opponents of eugenics, guided by the German-American anthropologist Franz Boas’s new, scientifically supported concept of culture, exposed fallacies in racist thinking.

Although eugenics is now widely discredited, some groups and individuals today claim a new scientific basis for old racist assumptions. Pondering the continuing influence of racist research and thought, despite all evidence to the contrary, Sussman explains why―when it comes to race―too many people still mistake bigotry for science.

All of this needing to be said, I end my response by making a connection of these seminal thinkers about 'prejudice' and 'race' to two global crises: USA AND UKRAINE in armed deadly force conflict with RUSSIA and USA AND ISRAEL in armed deadly force conflict with PALESTINIANS. The primary, or seminal connection is that regardless of which sides people have CHOSEN, ARE CHOOSING, and will CONTINUE TO CHOOSE-- 1. We are ALL in the same species, Homo Sapiens, 2. Planet Earth is the only known planet where homo sapiens can live-- where our common species is sustainable, regardless of skin color-- as long as we stop killing each other for any reason at all, 3. So, why have we, why do we, and why are we still CHOOSING not to share Planet Earth's resources and each human being's genius brain, and only die from natural causes? Why don't we CHOOSE TO REJECT racism and prejudice as necessary for any and all groups of species Homo sapiens? Why don't we CHOOSE peace instead of war and CHOOSE life for all and no more humans killing other humans?

Now, I could have simply replied by asking you to tell me what you understood about what I said, but as a teacher since I was thirteen years old, I can not ever pass up an opportunity to encourage you and every reader to engage in a process of reading and reflection. I do not ever want to spoon-feed students when people's lives are at stake. I hope the length and depth of my attempt to fulfill your request inspires you to expand your horizons beyond what appears to be your first love-- technology. I wish you joy on your journey. I hope you CHOOSE wisely to sustain our species and as a consequence, honor our common species.
