Zach shared his stories; Paul shared his lyrics and music. Zachary’s story titled “ABOUT THE READER, THIS GUY!” led me to remember “YOU CAN CALL ME AL”. Paul’s lyrics are exactly the questions and things I feel like I’ll not ever get to experience that people that were in my black gay male cohort of one wanted to experience with a husband in at least the nation of my birth. I think my body may no longer be compatible with Chicago, Illinois, the place were I was born. I’m sad wondering if my father ever even thought it might have been helpful to come and explain why(?) to so many ; no, actually all — all the things that make up my conception, birth, and shared timeline with him and our “Soul Circus Families” from Alabama and the Jim Crow South that one too many who look like you are expending tons of energy and money to drag us all backwards into. All the bullies and thugs who I thought THE AMERICAN EXPERIMENT would ‘heal(?)/cure(?)/rehabilitate(?)’ have apparently always been rewarded for poor to mediocre performance in, I can only suppose, every aspect of our shared USA journeys, thus intensifying their willful ignorance, ie, their choice to escalate their…
