Greetings, @Walter Rhein:

As it happens, we both came across this same video. I took a slightly deeper dive into her co-author, a journalist for Florida's Tampa Bay Times. I strongly suspect the collaboration with a "publicly popular journalist" is what actually got the author's book published; nothing more and certainly in my humble opinion, nothing more.

My criticism however, is more nuanced, however. Basically, she sounded in the interview like she had never written the book, quite frankly. Worse than that for me is that she did not just open 'her' book and read however she had defined "woke"- the single word at heart of whatever argument she was making! The platform that invited her to appear is a "young Conservative" outlet for the most part, so every person with a "woke axe" to grind 'hits their target demographic-- they do not really ever seek to bring quality content to their audience.

Two final thoughts prompted by your essay:

1.) What would it take for two or more writers from Medium to launch an Independent Publishing company committed to "Quality Content"?

2.) Why not use your Medium.com stats and fans input to curate a collection of your Medium.com work and publish it as an anthology with a forward that talks about subjects you have explored over time?

Okay, three thoughts: 3.) Keep writing!
