IDK, I think this is a bipartisan issue. I see the entire nation wanting schools back in buildings whether or not “ the return to normal” of face-to-face instruction will continue to murder POCs in their homes at record numbers. Unlike last year, no one is rolling out color-coded crisis plans to save lives. We are barely reporting anything about COVID19 in the USA. AS a nation, we are still the child defending our insanities by pointing at everybody else with the other four-out-of-five fingers pointing right back at ourselves in the USA.

One of the four fingers is the Vanity Fair investigative piece by Katherine Eban. The USA has for years funded the research called “gain of function” research that created the COVID-19 virus. By paying China and its talented scientists to conduct the research, USA retains plausible deniability ( “We( USA funders) don’t know what “ THEY!” chose to do with the money once they got it!).

For anyone at a loss to identify three additional fingers pointed at the USA, think,

Critical Race Theory + related legislation,

Voter suppression + related legislation, and

Women’s Rights/ Maltreatment of Women by all flavors of Men of all skin colors, especially those men with religious beliefs of any flavor + related legislation.

So, even if each finger represents an equal fraction of the USA, the overwhelming majority in 50% of the electorate think of sick, long-term disabled by COVID19, and fatalities from Delta Variant as acceptable collateral damage.
