In the name of God as depicted in the Old Testament, bible-based religions have always embraced cruelty, hatred, and depravity, as long as it happened mostly outside the walls of their cathedrals and or chapels.

This I believe is the main reason organized religious are silent on all current human crises in America and around the world. Such behaviors render mainline religions toxic in their impotence.
