ONLY IN AMERICA: VERNON N, A Message from California Secretary of State on behalf of Los Angeles County Registrar of Voters. Your ballot for the November 5, 2024, General Election was received and counted. Thank you for voting!
At 8:02 am PDST, only 42 hours after voting by mail at my local USPS, I received a phone confirmation that my ballot was received and counted. Full disclosure, this is actually my third phone message; first message was tthe call notifying me that the ballot had been mailed, second message was the reminder to vote early and avoid the lines by voting early in-person at one of 5 community early voting centers or by mail. Of course, we can still choose to vote the “standard method”, ie, in person on Election Day at a local polling place or the Offices of the LA County Clerk.
Say whatever you wish to say about my adopted home state — ‘the land of fruits and nuts’, ‘the left coast’, ‘ lawyers-fully-employed-here’if you can pay their rates, etc. ALL OF these ‘nicknames’ are demonstrably TRUE, BTW. WE VALUE, PROMOTE AND PROTECT OUR VOTING RIGHTS.
In closing, I would be remiss if I did not add that we also have the same problems and challenges our 48 sibling US STATES AND TERRITORIES too numerous to mention!
