Dear Aunt Dimples:

By the time you read this, I will have returned to Los Angeles. As you know, it is the place I have made a home since graduating from Northwestern in 1981. It ‘s nice to be home again, and I am glad for the time that me, you and mom shared from April 2015 to November 2015. I will always be glad that I came and was able to be of service to you and Mother. I will always be grateful to you and mom for the invitation.

A little business, on December 4, 2015, I repaid the $500.00 you loaned me for the drive to Wisconsin by making a cash deposit at the Chase branch on Brown Deer Road. Thank you.

Later that evening, mom and I drove down to Illinois to stay overnight to catch our early flight to LAX. We shared a meal at the Cracker Barrel near Pleasant Prairie. Little did I realize it would be our last time there together.

As I write tonight, my mind goes back to Jon taking me to the Milwaukee airport after a Thanksgiving visit in 2013, I believe. Jon asked me what he could do to improve relations with my mother. I told him that if you were happy, my mom would be happy, so…
