New South Genocide 2021 Version: in Florida from 1987 to 2021

The criminally negligent and tragic delusion of Florida Governor RonDionDesantis is people do not have to die of COVID19 for their precious and or precarious freedoms! Once, upon a time, I flew from LAX to MIA to live in a Biscayne Bay ( Miami downtown) hotel while attending the annual Gospel Music Workshop of America's Annual Convention. Everyone from all over the world was friendlier than any of the many Miami residents I encountered. A white server at Tony Roma's slid my rib platter which I, thankfully caught and "stopped the slide". Stopping at local MickeyD's for breakfast while enjoying the view from Downtown Miami's elevated monorail, a young Cuban girl refused me service. Mind y'all, this was in 1987! I guess Florida hadn't gotten the NEW SOUTH, memo. ( Then as Now?)

Moving on, the Haitian clerk at a local department store in downtown, Jordan Marsh or Burdines, held her mean-sneer for all of her customers. But I do not consider that an aspirational behavior for a retail sales associate anyplace. The most pleasant conversation was with my white server while enjoying a burger combo at a fabulous Intercontinental Hotel Casino that was virtually a museum because the voters had rejected casino gambling. You guessed it, I was his first and only customer for most of my meal.

Unlike any other city in the 48 contiguous United States of America, people were rude and belligerent with each other...on the streets and in public conveyances! Comparing notes at a group dinner for our small SoCal contingent the night before we flew back to LAX, all of us had had similar unfortunate experiences!

For me, it was a tragedy. One of the most diverse cities in the world --- and none of the residents got along! So much potential for peace and love, but no peace and certainly no love. I was profoundly disappointed to see the state where Mary McLeod Bethune had done so much to educate generations of Black Floridians. To their everlasting credit, THE FLORIDA MASS CHOIR folks were some of the kindest, most courteous, and welcome hosts you could ever want to have when far away from home.❤💙💚💛🧡🖤💜🖖🏾👊🏾

But getting back to 2021 realities, how much longer can Florida honestly DEMAND the right to die in a nation that I believed once, upon a time, Ervin Munro, Patricia A Walker, Lisa Ferguson and Warren Lawson, would never allow suffering and death on such an epic scale? Seriously, he said, 😭😢😥😱👿 how much longer can all of us sit helplessly watching this, even beyond Florida? This is why I will not have a television in my home ever again. On a more essential note, this is why I now consider organized and disorganized systems of religion and spirituality to be citadels of epic abandonment and failure for their continued and deafening silence. I really do not care any longer that all of them have been bought by the one-percenters and those one-percent adjacent. They could unite and demand change in exchange for an agreement to never proselytize, apologize, or promote their brands ever again! Wow...here I am...milliseconds away from...saying... To ALL OF " THEM!"...a pox...an uncurable POX!.... on all your houses!

Just because all your sacred texts purport to predict that "this is how the world ends" should never have supported y'all all sitting back and rejoicing that at least you're nowhere near any Red State slowly and painfully killing human beings. Others of your members, doing nothing because "those people" were preordained to suffer, you damnable PHILISTINES! Others saying that the dead are somehow better off because they didn't have to be here now to see this.. you criminally insane necromancer's!

Timothy Jacob Wise, a fellow traveler and educator colleague is at least as angry as I am about this national madness! But at the end of this post, at the end of this day, at the end of all time, @ Brene Brown, we really must rely upon POTUS46 and VPOTUS46 and other non-GOP elected and appointed officials to practice radical unconditional love and apply The Golden Rule, at a bare minimum. Are you all really that drunk with the wine of the world that you have forgotten what it is to love the stranger, the widows, the orphans, and the children!!!!!?????!!!!??? I do not want to hear any remorse when y'all in Washington, DC return from your summer breaks!
