IF the New York Times Editorial Board and bearded yet younger-than-he-tries-to-appear Ezra Klein were not just trying to hype Ezra’s latest book, perhaps they would have done any or all of the following:
Stopped giving a platform to the pre-Trump2.0 world of partisan politics;
Actually looked at the number of days when the air and water in California’s metropolitan areas is actually cleaner than it was when I first deplaned at LAX in September of 1981.
Used their once mighty newspaper and media empire to research how Japan has successfully had high-speed rail since 1959, the year I was born in the maternity ward for the Black Hyde Park Chicago neighborhood at now long-demolished for the University of Chicago to enlarge its south side Chicago footprint. Or even better, wondered out loud how to forment a bidding war amongst hi-speed rail builders in Japan, China, and Canada to bring hi-speed rail from San Diego , CA to Seattle, WA.
