"Ninth Circuit Sides With Fuller Seminary in Expulsion of Students in Same Sex Marriages – Pasadena Now"

This opinion is inspired by the investigative LGBTQIA+ commentator, Jonathan Polletti

As quiet as it is still kept, California has a history of hiding its dirty laundry relative to human rights violations. At least burying them our of sight of local, state, national, and global mainstream news outlets. For example, I know that any number of artificial intelligence algorithms can potentially prevent my metron/ Facebook feed/ LinkedIn/ / followers, family members, and friends from ever seeing my opinions on this matter of life-transforming importance. In December of 2021, that last statement is not hyperbole or histrionic rhetoric. At least one Fuller student has been known to have taken his life in major depression and despair over their sexual orientation.

As I begin, let me be clear. At no time in my dual roles as a student and employee of Fuller Theological Seninary [FTS]( at its Pasadena, CA main campus) did I find it to be a hotbed of homophobia and or a hotbed of profligate LGBTQIA+ sexual expression. Quite the contrary, quiet as it has been kept by me and countless other, students, faculty, and support staff at FTS.

A community of earnest inquiry and conversation was particularly evident as I lived in an intentional Christian Community during my transition from completing a Master's Degree in Theology (with a concentration in Pastoral Counseling) [ Class of 1991] to my first year as a Doctoral Student in its' then inaugural program in Marriage and Family Therapy. My vision then, as now, was to earn a doctoral degree and clinical licensure in my adopted home state of California. My goal: to teach, write, coach, inspire, equip and empower the next generation of Black queer psychotherapists fluent enough in the many Christian and Islamic and Atheist and or Agnostic professions of the majority of the folks I aimed to come along side of in their "wild and beautiful life journeys" on Planet Earth to be of some help.

I had become aware of this hidden gem in the heart of Pasadena, a small town that reminded me of my closeted youth as a child of incest growing up in Paterson, NJ. My memories of a deeply traumatizing series of rapes was confirmed as part of my coming out to my beloved mother during a Christmas visit to my parents' home in the late 1990's.

So know you know the deep and profound intensity of this comment in the story shared below*:

"Too many of us have felt deep hatred for our abusers, long ago forgiven. However, at no time did we take the lives of our abusers and or those who were or may have been (?) complicit in the abuse."

Yet, an intentionally underreported legal ruling in a small, predominantly conservative and white heterosexual suburban-urban conclave suggests another big reason why mainstream Christian Evangelicalism must inevitably die with its major partner, Cannibalistic Corporeal Capitalism ( in the USA and around the world- to borrow half the tag line from Democracy Now!). Too many homophobic-at-the-core spiritual communities have seduced and then murdered the souls of too many of us sincerely seeking the unconditional love and acceptance meticulously documented in the sacred Biblical texts. The now State-and-US-government-sanctioned-and-abetted-slaughter must cease and desist-- with all deliberate speed and by every means necessary. No reputable and venerated institution of higher education can be allowed to get away with such harmful and discriminatory practices.

The separation from God's Unconditional Love ( a.k.a., SIN(S?)) must finally and eternally end. Failure will simply become another catalyst in the USA's attempt to resurrect a fascist Third Reconstruction. Choose wisely on this Third Advent Sabbath Weekend, my beloved sisters and brothers. FTS: You have no idea how many lives depend on your choices in response to this groundbreaking and cataclysmic verdict.

"If Released from Prison, Bobby Kennedy Assassin Sirhan Sirhan Plans to Live in Pasadena – Pasadena Now"

I speak as a member of what would be commonly referred to as an early childhood trauma survivor. AS part of my recovery, I earned a Masters Degree in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. I was also a resident of Pasadena and enjoyed weekly visits while a resident of Duarte, a neighboring suburb. Until specific evidence of what Sirhan Sirhan has done to claim he has been rehabilitated is made public, he must remain incarcerated, the logical consequence for his multiple acts of gun violence in which one life was ended because of his self-confessed hatred for the State of Israel. Too many of us have felt deep hatred for our abusers, long ago forgiven. However, at no time did we take the lives of our abusers and or those who were or may have been (?) complicit in the abuse. As a matter of public safety AND a logical consequence for choices Sirhan Sirhan made as an adult, a life behind prison bars for him is appropriate. Why would anyone take his word for it that any rehabilitation has taken place? Why haven't he, his brother, his extended family(?) or his attorney been compelled in their advocacy for his release to provide any concrete evidence of rehabilitation since it is for us, the living, to find ways to peacefully co-exist with a human being who chose to be judge, jury, and executioner on his alledged journey of recovery?
