Regrets, I have A Few on 5.28.2022
O.M.G.- The “shooter and the grandmother and the dead children and the teachers” were selected by UVALDE, TEXAS PD as pawns, no more than collateral damage. As I have not owned a television since Obama’s first inaugural, and because my AFRICANA STUDIES Professor just showed us the NYT article this morning the “TIMELINE!!!”of 911 calls — multiple CALLS FOR HELP MADE AFTER(!) the UPD had already been outside in the hallway at the classroom to “witness!!” shots fired for an hour before calls were made. Too many shots ( over 100 rounds of spent ammunition) were made for the UPD officers on-site to not know they were witnessing multiple deaths.
Yesterday in a chat/check-in with my California Mom, the Problem of Evil came up on a different yet ultimately connected matter. Specifically, the use of the interior of a Roman Catholic Parish Sanctuary by the sitting Los Angeles, County Sheriff for a political video advertisement taping. Prior to our conversation, newspapers had already reported the Sheriff’s Wife Vivian is also an LA COUNTY SHERIFF OFFICER.
Alex Villanueva was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1963 to a Puerto Rican father and Polish-American mother. His family moved to Rochester, New York at an early age. When Villanueva was nine years old, his family moved to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, where he learned Spanish and walked to school while reading books along the rural back roads beside sugar cane fields.
Villanueva earned an associate degree in Liberal Arts from San Bernardino Valley College in 1986 and a Bachelor of Liberal Studies from the University of the State of New York, Regents College, now known as Excelsior College. Villanueva then earned a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Northridge and a Doctorate of Public Administration from University of La Verne. Villanueva’s dissertation was on the subject of leadership diversity in law enforcement.
Of course, the Los Angeles Archdiocese DENIED THEY HAD ALLOWED THE LA County Sheriff, a devout Roman Catholic and Parish Member to film using the building to demonstrate the Roman Catholic Archdiocese’s support for LA County Sheriff Alejandro “Alex” Villanueva’s Re-Election campaign.
Alejandro Villanueva is an American law enforcement officer serving as the 33rd sheriff of Los Angeles County, California. He defeated incumbent sheriff Jim McDonnell in the 2018 L.A. County Sheriff’s race, making him the first to unseat an incumbent in over 100 years. Before becoming Sheriff, he was a lieutenant with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Like too many other law enforcement agencies, innocent and or guilty and unarmed humans have been shot to death on the Villanueva’s watch thus reducing the number of court cases the Judicial System must deal with on a regular basis.

I was reminded that Rev. Dr. Ray Sherman Anderson had once told us that pure evil will not be comforted. Quick! Think of the Texas Governor, US Senator Theodore Cruz ( Commonwealth of Canada immigrant), UVALDE PD, LA COUNTY SHERIFF and LA County Sheriff Officer Alejandro “Alex” Villanueva and Vivian Villanueva (respectively) — none of these individuals, couples, or groups have displayed any need to be comforted or MORE IMPORTANTLY on this Remembrance “Memorial” Day Weekend, offered any comfort to the grief stricken community. Pure Evil.
So, as a fallible human being who is a committed Pacifist and fully embraces Four Pillars: UL, UPR, TGR, and LTLYITGLOA**, I have only two questions (so far today) for all of my friends who practice any type of spiritual praxis in any type of spiritual community in the USA in 2022:
1.) Now that all of these folks have been forgiven for purely evil and possibly illegal actions and or complicity with illegal and evil actors, why does secular governance require(?) allow(?) them to remain unconsequenced without punishment to fit their crimes against other innocent human beings?
2.) Why shouldn’t Federal, State, and Municipal laws require them to be terminated from the employment that gave them legal access to everyone hurt, harmed, endangered, and or murdered because of their direct and or indirect actions?
I would also, as you might reasonably expect, want them to receive a LIFETIME BAN from their current employment and be required to lifetime licensed Psychological assessment and daily (transitioning to weekly when appropriate) treatment via long-term psychoanalytic methods. Fortunately, that is the only way I could feel safe with any of them avoiding lifetime incarceration. I have ZERO TRUST for any of the aforementioned in their current roles. Finally, I would like to see the Roman Catholic denomination abolish the extant confession/ confessional process because essentially it rewards and trivializes evildoers. As every (ABA) Behavioral Interventionist would tell you, anytime you reward a behavior, you will get more of the rewarded behavior.
Please feel free to take until October 1, 2022 to e-mail your reply. Since it seems the USA is funding the ongoing Putin-Russia vs Zelensky war in the Ukraine, and Putin has not used the highly effective nuclear and biological weapons he occasionally has threatened to use, and POTUS JR Biden has committed to defend Taiwan from ROC incursion, I think that is a reasonable amount of time for YOUR BEST DETAILED REPLIES. Although my preference is a minimum of 5 citations of verifiable extant and seminal works from any SOCIAL STUDIES subject areas, if your response does not require citations, so be it.
