Speaking Truth About Power in 2020’s America

A conversation between Isabel Wilkerson [author of new book titled CASTE] and Taylor Branch[ noted historian], page 352 paragraph 9, and following:

[“Yes," he said of the predictions for 2042. "People were angry when the projections came out. People said they wouldn’t stand for being a minority in their own country."

"Now there are troops at the border", I said, "and shootings of Brown and black and Jewish people."

Taylor nodded. He contemplated the meaning of that. "So the real question would be," he said finally, "if people were given the choice between democracy and whiteness, how many would choose whiteness?"

We let that settle in the air, neither of us willing to hazard a guess to that one.]

My life and that of my family is a story seamlessly, suffocatingly, pervasively, and aggressive- passively, resonant with the American Caste System from 1619 to president, a "Tale as Old as Time". A narrative dramatized by The Greatest American Showman since P.T. Barnum ( minus the poetry, romance, and fabulous music of the Broadway stage and Hollywood-Broadway-film versions).

And that, my fellow Americans and International Friends is why I find POTUS45 AND HIS CABINET AND SENATOR MITCHELL MC CONNELL as mentally ill ( due to practicing the orthodox racism critical to maintaining the ACS ( American Caste System)) and at no time funny or even mildly amusing since COVID-19. And at least over 70 million of my fellow registered voters for Biden-Harris now realize " The Traveling Trump Show" is actually the existential threat to democracy.
