Well, as I work with my 12-person legal team and my older brother, Conway Bartholemew, Corporate Risk management Claims Coordinator, Treasury Operations, Health Care Service Corporation on the 62 million dollar lawsuit against Los Angeles Unified School District (and employees Tracey Eagle, Ed.D. and Patricia Pernin, Ed.D.) and United Teachers of Los Angeles (Dianne Haestert) Rules of engagement are as follows:

1O COMMANDMENTS OF LOGIC
1.)Thou shalt not attack the person’s character,
but the argument (ad hominem).
2. )Thou shalt not misrepresent or exaggerate a person’s argument
in order to make it easier to attack (straw man fallacy).
3.) Thou shalt not use a small number
to represent the all (hasty generalization).
4.) Thou shalt not argue thy position
by assuming one of its premises is true (begging the question).
5.) Thou shalt not claim that because something occurred before,
it must be the cause (post hoc/false cause).
6. )Thou shalt not reduce the argument
to two possibilities (false dichotomy).
7.) Thou shalt not argue that because of one’s ignorance,
a claim must be true or false (ad ignorantum).
8. ) Thou shalt not lay the burden of proof onto the person
who is questioning the claim (burden of proof reversal).
9. )Thou shalt not assume “this” follows “that”
when there is no logical connection (non sequitur).
10.) Thou shalt not argue that because a premise is popular,
it must be true (bandwagon theory).

To wit, the above-named parties claimed that I had never been employed by them and or abandoned my employment with LAUSD. What makes them stuck on stupid is that they did this AFTER I had been vetted and made an offer by Scoot Education, a third-party corporation hiring and placing non-union substitute teachers in all So Cal public school districts, private and charter schools, especially. Oh, and by the way, Melissa R. Winters, MS, Dr. (and AZ principal) Mona Mallery, Ed.D. , Hazel R., and Sogand Tehrani, my in-classroom and NPA/BII supervisors respectively, had all given me glowing recommendations. Once the LAUSD employees in the aforementioned notice of pending action as posted on “public” social media website a.k.a. Facebook authorized the removal of my credentials on CTC.CA.GOV on or around January/February 2022, over 2 years AFTER my original resignation was submitted and accepted by Ms. Winters on or about August 8 2020 AND after CA Dept. of Employment and Housing had given me my Right-to-Sue letter, also in 2020/2021, they demonstrated retaliation with malice aforethought by removing Vernon Prescott Nickerson’s* credentials from the State website, thus preventing him from paid employment in education in the state of California while also making Mr. Nickerson the target of the CA.EDD fraud investigation in order also to “claw back” the UI benefits which he was entitled to by law. This was a promise ( you’ll never work again in this state made repeatedly to my cohort of iCAPP interns by Dr. Pernin, if “THEY!” didn’t like us.

UTLA refunded only a fraction of the thousands of dollars in dues Mr. Nickerson had authorized through electronic payroll deduction because of a SCOTUS decision that mandated teacher’s unions represent all persons under the same job titles as the major bargaining unit for public schools in Los Angeles without becoming dues-paying union members. Because they failed to respond to requests for guidance ahead of the most recent teacher’s strike, Mr. Nickerson cheerfully accepted employment throughout the strike to assist differently-abled community college students who were still in session during the strike. So there were no picket lines to be crossed. Then, Ms. Haestert (sp?) called Mr. Nickerson one night in his Motel 6 temporary COVID-19 lockdown housing ( paid for in part by Ms. Winters and several teachers at Widney CPTC) to curse him out over the phone for 30 minutes, tell him the union was not going to help him and hung up in his face — all of which was reported to Tiffanie Noelle Smith and Rebecca Baroma, UTLA school-site representatives at the time, Spring 2020. Consequently, UTLA was, apparently by design, complicit with the hostile work environment and disparate treatment meted out to Mr. Nickerson, a Pan-African openly-homosexual male and person with a disabling condition, Blepharospasm. This condition was exacerbated during Mr. Nickerson’s 18 month (hellacious!,(not a word, but apt description of what it felt like to Vernon, his family, Deborah Nickerson, Lovell Nash, Lisa Ferguson, David Prather,Pamela Weathersby-Nickerson, and fb friends Jeffrey Casey, Stephen Rutledge, Talbott Kimball Dowst, David Shulman.)

Yes, given all of this relentless negative energy, Teresa Hord Owens, Terry Franklin, Vernon Prince Jr,and Jerri Harrison, is it any wonder Vernon Nickerson has an appointment with KP.org via telephone to begin a medical assessment for Asperger’s Syndrome, mild ADHD and Dissociative Identity Disorder ( 12 alters and counting, so far, one alter for every year of my excellent k-12 public school experiences in Chicago, IL, and Paterson, NJ. Andrea Holmes Thompkins and I and our siblings all grew up together. I was the loner sitting on the porch stoop always making up musical theater by himself, opinionated, and nerdy from the git-go. But no one (?) knew what was going down behind closed doors of Apt. #3, well, except Rev. Dr. Albert Prince Rowe, Jr. But sadly, when I came home to celebrate the life and times of Mrs. Sadie Mae Walker Nickerson, R.N.(ret) in March of 2016, Pastor Rowe was in rehab. But his beloved Dr. Dorothy Collins Rowe is I believe yet with us on this side of the Jordan. I always wondered if she knows anything that might be helpful, especially since she had come to JFKHS prior to my arrival in September 1973. Pastor Rowe had told me in a contentious and un-pastoral visit to our home the day we buried my father, Deacon Willie Curtis Nickerson, that she had told him that I wasn’t as smart as everyone had tested me to confirm my mastery of their curriculum, dating back to Thelma Whitney, my third-grade teacher at Abraham Lincoln School #9 in Paterson (years before Pastor and Mrs. Rowe ( our “Martin/Malcolm X and Coretta/Betty King/Shabazz migrated into Paterson from Wilmington, DE,[she] and Syracuse, NY[he]). I attributed his wildly inappropriate and expletive-laden rant to his overwhelming grief at the loss of the best friend and man he claimed publicly to love like a brother from another mother, to homophobia endemic to Black and conservative churches throughout the HIV/AIDs pandemic. But in the clarity that comes from meditation, diet and excerise during quarantine, I now (2022) wonder why he behaved so hatefully towards me in my parent’s home. If I had had a weapon and was Kyle Rittenhouse, I would have shot and killed him out of fear for my own life, locked inside the upstairs rooms of my parent’s 2 story brick garden apartment they had purchased to provide security for our MOTHER in the event he should predecease her. Ironically, that is why I am a committed anti-gun advocate. Had my behavior matched the un-characteristic (?) intensity of pastor Rowe on that day, he would not have done all the good I hear tell he did until the day he died.

But to make a long post come to an end for today, Ali Babu Che Johnson, Charese Jordan Moore, Glodean Champion, Paul Tenaglia, and Vernon Prince Jr and Cynthia Miller and Glenda Hicks, I do now wonder why a Black preacher’s wife who I thought was honest and sincere when she was giving us educational toys for Christmas some years would have said something so mean, petty, and vindictive about me, a student at her high school who was never in any of the social studies and or History classes she taught? Honestly, I will I suppose never know why she or pastor Rowe did not share her observed(?) first-person(???) insights, given her status as a certificated professional with either of my parents? Both would have investigated and corporally punished me at such a report. And of course, I have the degree(S), accolades, and life experience to thoroughly dismiss such talk as jealous haters hiding homophobia and em-bare-ass ment behind a virulent form of all-consuming self-hate and low self-esteem, These things, I believe, are the true cause of death by cancer(s), diabetes, strokes, and heart attacks, that have decimated Black folk in the USA. In spite of and in concordance with The Tuskegee Institute syphilis experiments ( when my mother was a student R.N. at that HBCU, btw DURING the experimentation/lack of medical intervention), low wealth, slave wages, miseducation, and right up to and including the profound, pervasive, and persistent economic segregation in the Los Angeles Unified School District and its handmaiden United(?!) Teachers(?!?!) of Los Angeles ( city and county). Ashe. Amen. Selah.
