Dear Sam W. : I am a 64 year old same gender loving and celibate by choice PANAFRICANAMERICAN male diagnosed with Klebsiella Pneumoniae and still undergoing testing ( fibroscan, a liver ultrasound- (I had no idea this was even a test, btw) -scheduled in June . I voraciously consumed your article only to discover I have done all the steps except the lemonade stand— because that would likely be a crime since doctors have yet to begin any treatment. I have been ‘living the LOS ANGELES CITY/COUNTY nightmare since October 2022. From this vantage point, I agree with you— none of the public agencies and social service infrastructure I thought my taxes had paid for have worked to improve my health or housing-unfit-for-human-habitation situation. Perhaps worst of all, although I have three different social workers, one of whom is also a Registered Nurse, what health I do have is me drinking only spring water and using bottled purified water for washing-up, and eating fresh vegetables and deli sandwiches. All that being said, I am grateful and happy to be alive—but am craving justice and safe affordable housing. So, what country do you reside in? I wonder if I should or even could immigrate? I am totally stereotyping here based solely on your avatar/profile picture, but are you in the UK? CANADA?
