Why I Am So PROUD OF ALL OF OUR NATION’S COLLEGE STUDENTS as 2023-2024 Ends

MEANWHILE, I AM PROFOUNDLY DISAPPOINTED at just a minority of their Professors and Administrators*

Most of our “brightest and best” demonstrated wisdom, maturity, and an abundance of maturity to complete their end-of-term academic work before initiating peaceful, diverse, ecumenical, and secular NON-VIOLENT AND ATTENTION-GETTING Anti- Gaza Genocide, Anti-war, and PRO-Divest-Boycott-Sanction protest encampments. It is to their credit that they gave the US AND ISRAEL more than enough time to cease the Genocide in Gaza. Their comparative restraint vis a vis the vociferous combativeness of USA/ISRAEL in Palestine is impressive and just what was needed to expose the depths of unnecessary mass murder and or persecution.

Frankly, I have always considered it a collegiate rite of passage to have that one last opportunity to celebrate with friends and affinity groups having survived another academic year. One big social before summer vacation, buckling down for summer school, or starting full-time summer employment is a universal higher ed tradition. I am impressed that so many choose to sacrifice their precious and few remaining hours of unstructured recreation time to express a majority-of-human-species’ desire for peace/end to war and its hand maiden, settler colonialism.
