Yes it was and still is. That is the problem. Instead of using ironic humor to “message” the issue of pedophilia, I wish the SFGMC had chosen to found and or fund/ promote local agencies igniting (?) / promoting healing amongst childhood incest and rape survivors. They never thought about any negative and lasting consequences for those of us LGBTQIA+ POCs who know that it has taken decades after 20th century Civil Rights victories in the Judicial and Legislative branches for me to work to remain a change agent in educational and social service systems that remain economically and socially segregated in a time where states are now seeking to prohibit teaching anything except American Exceptionalism mythology as THE ONLY TRUTH/ which is THE ONLY LIE. They needlessly unleashed a hornet’s nest, then escaped ( mostly) by pulling down the video. Meanwhile innocent people anywhere there is a Gay Mens Chorus gets negative, intrusive, and exploitative attention. Their creation, intended for good, failed and handed the fascist Philistines a victory. I love fine and performing arts, but from where I work and live, I see the need for mindfulness + unity as the only way forward for humanity. SFGMC will survive this drama AND it is a major and dangerous setback as long as no common cause comes in its' aftermath.
